NEWLY COMMISSION PARK IN LAGOS OPEN FOR PUBLIC USE

In line with its vision and mission in transforming Lagos into a mega city and providing its citizens with an environment to relax unwind, the Lagos state government under the stewardship of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola has been erecting parks and garden all over the state since he came into office in 2007.

The latest park commissioned and opened for public use is the, Ndubuisi Kanu Park situated at Alausa Ikeja, named after former military governor of Lagos, Rear Admiral Kanu Ndubuisi due to his exploits during the struggle for the actualization of the June 12, 1993 presidential mandate.

The Park situated in a serene environment occupies approximately a total land area of 17, 195 square metres and boast of facilities such as gardens seats, trees of various types, garden lights, gazebo with seats, multipurpose courts, children play ground, toilet facilities, walkways and parking area that can accommodate a minimum of 40 cars.

The Ndubuisi Kanu park continues to reinstate the policy of a greener Lagos according to commissioner for Environment, Tunji Bello, he said that the commissioning of the park underscored the commitment of the present administration to the task of initiating policies and engaging programme that would be enduring and unifying in nature, he further state that the uniqueness of the park was to further enhance the greening culture for which the area had been known for in the last 25 years. 

The Park would be a one stop place for fun lovers as stated by the commissioner. He said "for many, it is a citadel of relaxation, family retreats, friendship reunion, children’s excursion, a remarkable ground for all festivities and a place for individual relaxations and renewal”.  Residents should expect to have a lovely experience using it.

The Nduibusi Park adds to the growing number of such Parks erected across Lagos by the Fashola administration since assuming office in 2007.
