Imagine you go off to the mall and decide to purchase a bed sheet; you
are taken aback by the various sizes available and a little confused what size
would fit your bed. You take a wild guess and pick a size you think would work
and alas! You get home and it’s the wrong size.
Do you know the dimension of a king size bed? Which is bigger, a queen
size or a king size? What is an eastern or western size bed? What is the ideal
height of any mattress? What should inform my decision in choosing a particular
size?
Having this information on your bed size would help in choosing the
right bed and bed sheets without having a headache at the store.
Bed sizes:
2” by 4” - The baby court.
2 by 6’’ - single bed, 2 by7 - extra-long single bed.
3” by 6” - also known as twin beds Ideal for children ages 4 – 16.
3 ½” by 6” is a slight wider width than the 3” by 6”.
4” by 6” popularly known as the double size bed would conveniently take
an adult but not comfortable for 2.
4 ½” by 6” would take 2 adults with little or no space between.

name for it is the eastern king size.

request although one could be lucky and get this at the malls.

When looking out to pick bed sheet either the fitted or flat sheets
check out for measurements in centimeters or the bed size specification:

Flat sheet - 205 by 243 cm
Kings: Mattress size: 76 by 80 cm. Fitted Bed sheet - 198 by 203 cm Flat
sheet - 274 by 259 cm
Californian king: Mattress Size: 72 by 84 cm. Fitted Bed sheet -

In choosing a bed the following should be considered:
1. The space of the room available should be considered first. Imagine
ordering a bed that leaves you with no space to walk around the room.
2. The number of occupants on that bed. A king size bed is just ideal
for 2 occupants with ample space to move around. The double bed will do but
there would be just as little space left for both occupants. Don’t waste your
time with a single bed just as its name is so it is meant to be. 2 people on a
single bed would be a bad night rest.
3. Your preference for bed frame. What do you feel comfortable with wood
or metal? Taking this into consideration will help you decide what to use for
your bed frame.
4. The kind of feel you will determine your mattress. Do you want
a hard or soft mattress? Would the water bed or orthopedic bed be ideal for you
? Also check the height of the mattress for what you are comfortable with.
So the next time you need to purchase a bed or bed sheet, there won’t be
any guessing games, you now know what to look out for.
