It is no longer news that Nigeria does not generate enough
electricity needed by its citizens thus rationing of the little generated has
left commercialized states like Lagos with a meagre electricity supply of about
1000 megawatts from the national grid. In order to ensure that the state have
at least enough electricity for its ever growing economy and citizens, this has
made the state government to come up with building of power plants across the
state in accordance with the law which will power government institutions
within the state thereby the supply from the national grid would all go into
use by citizens of the state. It is also in the same vein that the state also began
a campaign by the Lagos State Electricity Board under the Ministry of Energy
and Mineral resources in all the five divisions of the state tagged; “Conserve
Energy Save Money” to sensitise citizens of the state that the little
electricity currently supplied to the state can still go a long way in making
electricity available to everyone in the state if well use and conserve.

CHOOSING YOUR BEDSIZE AND BEDDINGS
pics: dhgate.com |
Imagine you go off to the mall and decide to purchase a bed sheet; you
are taken aback by the various sizes available and a little confused what size
would fit your bed. You take a wild guess and pick a size you think would work
and alas! You get home and it’s the wrong size.
Do you know the dimension of a king size bed? Which is bigger, a queen
size or a king size? What is an eastern or western size bed? What is the ideal
height of any mattress? What should inform my decision in choosing a particular
size?

ALCOHOL AND ITS EFFECTS ON THE LIVER
In many societies alcohol is the
most common cause of chronic liver disease. In fact it has become a major
source of concern in our communities because it accounts for a high percentage
of deaths among the youths especially male within the age range of 25 – 35
years.
HOW DOES ALCOHOL CAUSE LIVER DAMAGE?
Alcohol is metabolised almost
exclusively by the liver, alcohol is a powerful inducer of mixed-function
enzymes called oxidases and these enzymes break down alcohol into toxins called
acetate. Acetate is toxic to the liver cells (hepatocytes); the amount of
acetate in the blood depends on the quantity of alcohol ingested therefore
persistently high levels of acetate in the blood results in liver damage hence
liver disease.
Five years or more than 10 years
of drinking is required to produce alcoholic cirrhosis and a steady daily
intake is more hazardous than intermittent drinking.
Alcohol causes several lesions in
the liver which can occur either singly or in combination and can be seen by
the aid of the electron microscope. These include:
Fatty liver (steatosis), Mallory
Hyaline, Siderosis, Autoimmune hepatitis, Fibrosis, Cirrhosis and Hepatocellular
Carcinoma

How long will Nigerians remain fools? - By Etcetera
From the Soul musician turned writer...enjoy!
In Nigeria, there are three classes of people: The Masses, The Politicians, and The Rich. The masses are the puppets, the politicians the hand that controls the puppets and the rich the hand that controls the politicians. The politicians have the system totally rigged in their favour.
They have made it compulsory for the masses to vote from a list selected by them knowing that as blind as the masses are, they may never realise they can actually have a choice. In the upcoming presidential election, the masses have been given no choice but to choose between two candidates forced upon them by the politicians.

This may not be the best time for me to write on this because of misinterpretations, but I can no longer resist the push. "Husband Scarcity" has become one of the challenges faced by many women today. If you go to prayer houses, majority of the intentions are prayer for a life partner. And this calls for concern.
