It was all smiles on the faces of everyone as Lagos State Polytechnic Ikorodu,, held its 23rd convocation ceremony. The event which was amidst glitz and glamour took place at the school of agriculture auditorium Ikorodu campus and witness the presence of dignitaries which includes the representative of the Lagos State Governor, Rectors, Provost, Royal Father's, Past Rectors and Registrars of the polytechnic, dean's and directors of schools, graduands and guests amongst others.
The Rector, Dr. AbdulAzeez Abioye Lawal in his speech thanked all for coming and express his sincere congratulations to the graduands for their accomplishments which won't have been possible without the support and encouragement of their parents and loved ones.
He told the graduands to always remember that their degrees is a vital key to the door of thier future proffesional success. He urged them to endeavour to be good ambassadors of the instituion and make sure they engage in honest and meaningful activities aimed at sustaining themselves, while shunning idleness and putting to practice the skill they have acquired in the course of their polytechnic education.
Evelyn Nenuwa from the Department of Science Laboratory Technology who was the best graduating student attributed her success to God, her parents who appreciated the value of education and ensured she completed her education and also the hardwork she put into studying.
The list of graduands consists of 4,111 National diplomates and 2,934 Higher National Diplomates in a wide range of discipline.
